“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”  – Aesop

I live on Broadway Park which is a community of around 200 folk in 140 park homes. We recently embarked on a project to investigate the possibility to install a defibrillator, so we spent some months fundraising to enable us to buy a defibrillator. When we launched the project, the sum seemed huge but over the months we have received some fantastic support from all kinds of people. The contributions came in small and large donations. I’ve had a number of folk come up to me in the street and give me £5 towards the defibrillator project. I have been bowled over by such a generous spirit by so many. We live in a wonderful town filled with so many generous people.

We reached our target just before Easter which enabled us to make the purchase and push ahead with the installation. We have recently commissioned the defibrillator and it is now ready for use by our community and the public whenever the need may arise.

I have been amazed at how generous and kind people have been towards this life saving project from both individuals and organisations. I am reminded of a Bible verse in Proverbs chapter 11 verse 25 NIV — “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” God gives this wonderful promise that whoever is kind and generous will prosper in their own lives; their lives will be blessed. My prayer is that everyone who contributed to our defibrillator project will indeed be blessed, and that God will enrich their lives. A big “Thank you” from me to you.
