Annual Report for Petersfield Counselling Service 2018

Petersfield Counselling Service has continued its essential and professional work in 2018 offering short and long-term counselling to adults 18 and over in the local community. During 2018 the Service offered around 1100 hours of counselling and has continued to offer support to local residents in Petersfield and the surrounding areas. There is a steady number of clients approaching the service for support and PCS is managing to see clients quickly and efficiently for the time they need.

We have continued to operate with 14 counsellors seeing clients weekly. They continue to be supported by two supervisors and the wider management advisory committee. In 2018 a large group of our counsellors took up residence for their fortnightly supervision meetings in a new ‘home’ – Rev John Owen has kindly donated the use of the church office at All Saints Church in Steep. The counsellors are very happy in the new space and it has provided both the counsellors and the service with a great sense of relief and reassurance to have a secure place for our counsellors to work from.

We also continue to be supported by The Methodist Church and its kind and ongoing commitment in offering us a room for our three training days a year. Much thanks goes to Janet Love for her help in organising these dates!

The Service continues to depend heavily on the donations we receive throughout the year as we are a fully independent service. Our heartiest of thanks goes to all of you at PACT for the support and recognition you have offered us. Your generous contributions to the Service have ensured that we have remained steadfast in our commitment to offer counselling to those who would not otherwise be able to access support, and for that we are extremely grateful.
