Annual Report for The PACT Web Site: 2009
The web site was launched at Pentecost when a display of churches and organisations was set up and a copy of the web site made available on a laptop computer.
Invitations to join one or more email groups were given out together with a "Goodies Bag" containing a free PACT web site pen and an information sheet.
The web site has been kept up to date with new events and happenings and regulars such as the PACT Newsletter, Christian Comment from the Petersfield Post and Friday Comment from the Petersfield Herald - the latter often being up on the web before 8:00 am on the day of publication!
The web site has also grown as new events happened - some planned (24/7 Prayer), others most certainly not planned (The King's Arms fire). A new organisation has joined: IMC.
Some churches and organisations have been proactive in supplying information about future events and reports on past events but many seem not to realise the potential of the web site in disseminating news.
A key feature of the web site is the Email Groups: visitors are invited to join one or more email groups in order to be informed of the future events, activities and plans of the PACT Churches and organisations. As of 31 December 2009 only 75 people have signed up to one or more email group and many groups only contain a handful of members - see the table below.
You are encouraged to visit the web site and see what is there at present and consider what could be added to promote your church and/or organisation and to join one or more of the email groups. It would be good to report at the end of 2010 that many more than 75 people have joined an email group.
