Minutes of the Co-ordinating Committee Meeting held in
St Laurence Church Hall on Wednesday 4 March 2020 at 7:30 pm
Purpose of Meeting: A forum for ‘communion’ and communication between PACT churches, PACT organisations and local Christians, to facilitate events aimed at increasing opportunities for joint worship, witness and work between PACT churches.

Introduction, Bible reading and prayer
Carolyn opened her first committee meeting giving everyone a jigsaw piece. 1Corinthians 12 from v4 was read. She asked us to contemplate the jigsaw piece to have insight about how we fit

Christmas Day Lunch – full report with AGM papers. £30 given for flowers to thank Katie Wigley as agreed at AGM.
Unity Service (£255.24) and Carol Service (£328.87) collections divided equally to Homestart Butser and Petersfield
- Counselling Service - £292 each
- Website – same fee for a number of years - £138 paid
- Insurance has been renewed.
- Soup Run money as agreed at AGM has been given to Marika for the work with the homeless that she is doing in Portsmouth.
- Lions have donated £500 – need clarity over where they wanted it to be used. CT to contact them.
Holiday Club
This will be returning Regi & Helen are liaising about the mechanics and will keep all updated by email. Will run in August – either/or Tuesday Wednesday at Methodist Church. Want to provide hot meal as well. Need support both in kitchen as well as volunteers to help at Messy Church style event.
Prayer Space
22nd – 30th May possibly Heidi’s. Richard and team from St MM Sheet will run again but support needed with churches manning a day please. Jo is happy to prepare the stations, and anyone who has a suggestion should contact her via Richard. Queries etc to Richard - vicar@sheet.church
Events since last meeting:
- Hustings 5th December – well attended, chaired well, very polite!
- Carols in the Square 19th December – good turn out despite the many hindrances
- Messy Church Christingle Service 12th January 2020 – small number but felt it went well in keeping contact with families
- Unity Service at URC 19th January – well attended, good service with amazing food!
- Christmas Day Lunch – a thank you has been received from the young flautist, and she is eagerly looking forward to the next event.

Foodbank Stats – 50%up in demand. 2018 – 210 referrals (319 adults, 131 children) 2019 – 319 referrals (497 adults 210 children) Jan ’18 38 people, Jan ’19 46 people, Jan ’20 62 people helped.
Fresh food vouchers up to £10 per family £5 single folks.
There is not a strict 3 visits only, support is given for as long as is needed. So some of the above figures would be repeat.
Kings Arms – confirmed prior to the meeting that they had completed on the purchase of the old JSW building in Dragon Street.
