The Most Famous Book in the World
Photographic Exhibition opening at The Petersfield School
The Studio at TPS is to host an exhibition ‘The Most Famous Book in the World’ A celebration of the King James Bible, by freelance photographer Adam Greene.
Opening on 4 May this is a thought provoking, comforting but sometimes challenging exhibition, presenting the thoughts and reflections of prominent and celebrity Christians invited to select a personal verse from the King James Bible and share what makes their chosen verse special. Each piece is set to a photograph taken by Adam. Some of those who have contributed to this exhibition are; The Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams, Ann Widdecombe, Lord Alton and Peter Owen–Jones (from the BBC programmes Around the World in 80 Faiths and How to Live a Simple Life), to name but a few. The exhibition is moving round the country throughout the year to mark the 400th anniversary of the King James Version.
A book of the same title by journalist and author James Hastings, includes some of those from the exhibition and also contributions from other people such as the current Archbishop of York John Sentamu and former politician Jonathan Aitken. The book is scheduled for publication on 30 May 2011 - remember to order your copy from The Unity Bookshop! The book is published by Roperpenberthy Publishing at £4.99. Its ISBN is 9781903905685.
“This has been a two year project in the making, most of the time taken up actually making the arrangements to photograph some of these people and then I only had as little five to ten minutes with some to get a picture!”
Information regarding opening times to the public will need to be obtained from The Studio.
