Petersfield is a Fair Trade townPetersfield Fairtrade Trail: 17 February to 10 March in 2014

Fairtrade Fortnight brings together consumers, retailers, licensees, businesses, producers and campaigners nationwide to promote awareness and sales of Fairtrade products and campaign on issues of trade justice.

Every year, thousands of events and activities take place up and down the country in celebration of Fairtrade Fortnight, including food and drink tastings, fashion shows, fairs and fetes.

This year, to mark the arrival of Fairtrade Fortnight, you are invited to take part in a Fairtrade Trail with the opportunity to win a prize on completion. You can collect an entry form from Petersfield Library or download a copy by clicking on the link below:

The object of the trail, starting in Lavant Street and ending in Heath Road, is to identify 8 different fairly traded products that are featured in 8 shops in the town. Participants can be children or adults but we would ask that any children under the age of 12 be accompanied by an adult when visiting the shops on the trail.

To identify the shops you can either use the following cryptic clues or look out for the Fairtrade Town logo in shop windows. Then, look for a photograph featuring a fairly traded product in each shop and note down the product.

Shop clues:

1. Bath of cereal
2. Place of learning for William Morris’ Movement (dropping ‘s’)
3. Dutchman’s country with hair clasp dropping letter
4. Drooping tree goes back and forth
5. When you’ve not gone out
6. Distant skylines
7. There could be a pot of gold at the end
8. This old chemist has an innate talent

When you have found all 8 products, return your completed entry form below to Petersfield Library (a clearly marked box for entries will be found on the shelf behind the counter) by 5pm on Monday 3 March. A draw of all correct entries will take place after this date and the lucky winners will be notified.
