Petersfield's plans for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee

Time   Event
9:00 am to 10.30 am    Cars arrive in The Square and High Street
11:00 am to 2:00 pm     Music in the Square:  The Ampshire Halves, Petersfield Community Choir, The Stan Bennett Quintet.
Stalls around Square selling refreshments – seats and tables available from various pubs around The Square
11:30 am to 12:15 pm   Formal ceremony in The Square to mark the Jubilee: including possibly ringing St Peter’s Church bells at noon and burying of capsule
2:00 pm    

Those in costume gather in The Square and then walk behind traction engines to The
Heath, via High Street, crossing Dragon Street and then along Heath Road.

PACT hope you will join us as part of the march - we will be dressed in 1950s costumes and be walking behind our banner.

2:30 pm    Cars and motor bikes leave The Square for a tour around Petersfield, via High Street, College Street, Station Road, Charles Street, Lavant Street, Chapel Street, Swan Street, The Spain, Hylton Road, Sussex Road, Heath Road East, Heath Road, with some going onto The Heath. 
2:25 pm    

Walkers arrive on The Heath, whilst cars and motor bikes go on a tour of the villages. The Heath will be set up as a Garden Fete, plus stage. Stalls to be provided by local charities – marquee with refreshments plus space for wet weather (18m x 6m).

There will be a PACT stall on the Heath

During afternoon: music by Liss Band, 3:00 pm best costume competition, 3:30 pm tug of war, 4:15 pm raft race (children’s races?)

4:00 pm     Picnics on The Heath
5:00 pm       Most stalls finish – some food outlets stay
5:30 pm to 6:45 pm   Youth Bands on Heath
7:00 pm to 11:15 pm   Music for dancing on The Heath by the Southern Dance Orchestra and Danny Raven and the Renegades. Included: a 30 minute break for the Lantern Parade and Blazing Tribute)
9:45 pm     Lanterns gather at Sussex Road Car Park
10:00 pm       Lantern Festival at the Heath Pond and floating of lighted boats
10:30 pm     Blazing tribute to The Queen
11:15 pm      Finish
