PACT Carol Service: 19 December 2013

Once again the wet weather caused us to move into St Peter's for the Carol Service which was led by the Chair of PACT, Father Peter Hollins who remarked that since it had rained on the evenings of the last three PACT Carol Services he had never taken part in Carols in the Square!

Traditional carols were sung, with music provided by The Salvation Army and we all enjoyed mince pies, tea and coffee after the service.

A offering was taken during the service and £261.51 was collected - this will be shared, equally, between Homestart Butser and The Petersfield Counselling Service.

At the end of the service all the church leaders present read the following blessing:

When he came among us the Son of God scattered the darkness of this world; may he fill our hearts with his light.

God sent His angels to shepherds to herald the great joy of our Saviour's birth; may he fill us with joy and make us heralds of His good news.

And may God bless us the Father, Son and Holy Spirit

Leaders of PACT churches joined together for the blessing at the end of the carol service

Father Peter Hollins of St Laurence, Father Tomas James of St Peter's, Linda Read of The Salvation Army, John Callaghan of Life Church Petersfield, Rev'd Will Hughes of St Peter's, Rev'd Judith Bee of St Mary's, Buriton, Gerry Arnold of Life Church Petersfield
